This is one of the year’s must-go events because it brings together all the major players from the UK’s domestic tourism market – which makes up a whopping £100+ billion industry! Over 3,000 people were estimated to have been at the British Tourism & Travel Show on 16 and 17 March.

Manning our eye-catching stand right in the heart of the action were Groups Marketing Manager Iain Inch, Groups Accounts Manager Adam Barr (present for his eighth straight year) and colleagues from the Groups Sales team including Jason Kaldis and Stuart Lynd.

Indeed the best of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales were on display at the trade event. It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from more than 260 leading visitor attractions, venues, destinations, hotels, transport providers, associations, tour operators and marketing organisations located throughout Britain and the Emerald Isle.

There was a lot of interest from attendees about Ticketmaster Groups; and we were excited to promote some of our new products including nail-biting sport. We can now arrange group bookings for Saracens Rugby Club matches and the America’s Cup World Series, sailing into Portsmouth at the end of July. As always, there was curiosity about our theatre offerings – especially beloved family favourites like The Lion King and Aladdin. Plus, we’re thrilled about this autumn’s Marvel Universe LIVE! tour that’ll bring together the largest assembly of Marvel characters in a live production!

During our two days at the British Tourism & Travel Show, we spoke with many different people – ranging from those who hold accounts with Ticketmaster Groups and those who book through us occasionally, to those who didn’t even know we existed. So we can say without a doubt that this event was well worth attending. Plenty of promising leads were generated and we look forward to coming back in 2017.

But until then, we’ve got another exhibition to visit in 2016. The next show we’ll be attending is the Group Leisure & Tourism Show scheduled for 20 October at the NEC Birmingham. If you’re there, we hope you’ll drop by and say hello!
