In September, MacRae spoke about the history of Ticketmaster’s journey and some of the bumps in the road that have affected the collaboration between Engineering and Operations.

MacRae described how International evolved as a franchise of a US company into a large group in its own right, expanded by the merger in 2010 when Ticketmaster became part of LiveNation Entertainment. Over the years, as teams and products expanded and contracted, he said they’ve been faced with different barriers – time zones, culture, compliance, politics and technology. Plus, as they’ve started to migrate to AWS the latest “DevOps” changes started to highlight some gaps in their thinking, so he also shared what they are doing next to help prepare better for the future.
