A cold Saturday morning in the depths of January may not seem the ideal time for the great and the good from across the group travel industry to come together as one, but that’s exactly what happened as Excursions 2018 rolled in to town at North London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. Regarded by many as the first must-attend event of the exhibition calendar, Excursions which is now in its 42nd year attracts over a thousand hardy souls all with one aim in mind – buying group tickets.
Following on from last year’s highly successful event, Ticketmaster Groups took up residence in a high-footfall spot near the hall’s main entrance manned by Groups head honcho Adam Barr and manager of the Groups sales team Daniel Hillson. Lulled by an unusually quiet start ,a sudden deluge of people began streaming up and down the aisles and it was all hands on deck as the Ticketmaster Groups stand was overwhelmed with those who wanted to chat about the amazing events we have available and the fantastic services we have on offer.
We spoke with many people throughout the day: some were GTOs who book through us occasionally, others were accounts who book regularly throughout the year, as well as a host of new faces keen to work with us. All in all we can happily say that it was a great day and well worth attending. The event generated a wide selection of promising leads and we look forward to returning again in 2019.
But Excursions is just the start of the Ticketmaster Groups travelling circus in 2018. Throughout the year you’ll find us at the British Tourism & Travel Show (21 & 22 March, NEC Birmingham) and the Group Leisure & Travel Show (11 October, NEC Birmingham). Come join us for a chat!
