But back to the day time where it all started off on Friday with Live Nation President and CEO, Michael Rapino, with an overview on the Live Music Industry.

As he said ‘If you work in Live Music, you work in an industry that has grown for the last five years….you can’t find any industry that has the growth rate live music has’ and that is not a bad thing.

However we all need to be aware of how the industry is changing, that we have younger ticket buyers and we need to attract those buyers to live music.

From a Ticketmaster angle we need to ensure that the purchase process is what they expect, we have to think mobile, apps and then once they get to the event what can we do there to get them back again?

Michael also touched on the Secondary ticketing market and the complexity of the issue, one of the sound bites that was picked up by various industry publications was that ‘we have to get better at pricing the house’ which is something that we work with a number of our clients on using our Platinum, dynamic pricing platform.

Next up was the second part of the Bosses Level Open Forum, chaired by Live Nations President for International Touring (and recent guest of Ticketmaster’s client connections talks) Phil Bowdery.

All on the panel were very happy with their 2015’s but again it was all about how we can keep ahead of the curve, how we keep people wanting to spend their cash on going to see Live Music.

The panel also touched on the tragic events from last year at live music events and this was something which was talked about and discussed throughout the conference including very emotive first-hand accounts.

It was great to see our friend from our state of play report Mark Lawrence from the Association of Electronic Music on a panel with Pino Sagliocco, although all the chat about Ibiza made me wish for the summer to come around very quickly!

The panel did give some interesting thoughts and opinions on the SFX situation which are always interesting to hear and it’s good to hear the reassurance that of course Electronic Music will get through it.

On Saturday morning and feeling slightly jaded after the United Talent Happy Hour (thank you) the night before, it was time for everyone’s favourite panel on ticketing: The Disruptors with our very own Andrew Parsons.

It’s always an interesting panel and this year it focused on disruption tech or otherwise.  I completely agree with Andrew when he said ‘Disruption is a good thing and keeps us at the top of our game. That disruption pushes on and ensures we deliver the best platform we can’.  That’s what we’re trying to do every day and this year you’ll see some real positive changes in areas such as reporting, mobile and our app.

We’re always here to discuss all out platforms from Ticketweb right up to Platinum just email me at [email protected]
