This is one of the year’s must-go events because it brings together all the major players from the UK’s domestic tourism market – which makes up a whopping £100+ billion industry! Over 3,000 people were estimated to have been at the show which was held on 22 – 23 March.

Manning our eye-catching stand right in the heart of the action were Groups Accounts Manager Adam Barr (present for his ninth straight year) and colleagues from the Groups Sales team Jason Kaldis and Jason Simpson.

Indeed the best of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales were on display at the trade event. It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from more than 250 leading visitor attractions, venues, destinations, hotels, transport providers, associations, tour operators and marketing organisations located throughout Britain and the Emerald Isle.

There was a lot of interest from attendees around Ticketmaster Groups; and we were excited to promote some of our new products including nail-biting sport. We can now arrange group bookings for a host of diverse events such as Chesterton’s Polo in the Park, Emmerdale Studio Experience and the Household Division’s Beating Retreat to premier sporting events like the London Anniversary Games and AVIVA Premiership Final at Twickenham. As always, there was keen interest in our theatre offerings – especially beloved family favourites like Aladdin and the new production of Annie with Miranda Hart which rolls into the West End in May.

During our two days at the British Tourism & Travel Show, we spoke with a wide variety of people – ranging from long standing Ticketmaster account holders to new arrivals to the travel trade industry keen to find out more about what we can do for them. So we can say without a doubt that this event was well worth attending. Plenty of promising leads were generated and we look forward to coming back in 2018.

But until then, we have another major exhibition to visit in 2017. Our next big show is the Group Leisure & Tourism Show which lands at the NEC Birmingham on 12 October. If you’re there, we hope you’ll drop by and say hello!
