It is a particularly significant year for LGBT history, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality. It is therefore appropriate that we have chosen Opening Doors as our partner, as the now elderly members that the charity cares for were the generation that faced so much discrimination in that era, and who helped ensure that the younger generation by and large do not have to endure the same hardships. We raised £300 on the night, and having supported Opening Doors for London Pride 2016 we plan to continue supporting the charity this year through future events and encouraging staff to donate.

While the event was proud to be for a serious cause, the quiz itself was hugely entertaining and involved an especially popular music round, as well as naming famous LGBT celebrities from pictures. Congratulations again to the winning team “Good Morning, Brenda!” who took home exclusive tour merchandise and guest list to shows of their choice!

Our next event will be held in mid-May for International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia & Biphobia, which will serve as a fun warm-up to our now annual contribution to Manchester Pride on August bank holiday weekend, where the theme is Class of 2017.
