UK statistics state that 60% of openly out college students go back into the closet when they enter the workplace through fear of being judged or treated differently; the panel discussed overcoming these perceived challenges to progress and celebrate authenticity.
Questions from the audience discussed addressing homophobia both in and outside the workplace, as well as communicating one’s sexuality to colleagues in a new work environment. It was a rich discussion, followed by some great music and drinks at the bar.
