We always encourage innovation and disruption around the live events space, and that’s why we headed to Berlin for our ninth global Hackathon – specifically to connect with its thriving dev community. Here 50 developers joined us at the Rainmaking Loft us for a day of mashing up Ticketmaster’s APIs with other APIs to create meaningful and super cool experiences for fans worldwide. Not only did we have local Berlin developers on board, but developers from across Germany, UK, Hungary, Poland and Belarus made the journey over just to attend.

Have a look at what went on in the video below:

The innovative ideas that were created in just a matter of hours were testament to the talent in the room. It was a tough competition, but the eventual winner was I AM IN – a Tinder style mobile app to help groups of friends indicate their likes and dislikes by swiping left and right on events which ultimately resulted in a set of recommended events that the fan and their friends should go to.

These Hackathons give developers a rare insight into Ticketmaster’s culture of support, development, and commitment to constant change and innovation. They also provide the Ticketmaster team the opportunity to get up close and code with the wider developer community and gain insightful feedback on the developer experience, and the new updates to Ticketmaster’s API.
