The rounders tournament at Ticketmaster Sports Day kicked off with teams bringing their A Game – superstars were unearthed, bases were stolen and dreams were shattered.
Highlights included the recently injured Tom Cummins, who employed his very own runner; Ged “Usain Bolt” Skelding; Neil Evans’ kill shot of a right hand; and the hand-eye coordination skills of Christine Cummings.
In the end there were just two teams left to battle it out – the Sales Sons of Pitches and the TicketWeb Wolves. The scene was set for a showdown to end all showdowns. It was a worthy battle but Ged, Gary, Jodie, Rob, Mr Andrew Parsons and Nick lead the team to ultimate victory.
Well done to all of the teams who took part: Robots in Disguise, Land Sharks, The Roundhogs, 99 Problems but a Pitch aint One, Ball Handlers, Wyborn to Be Wild, Smack my Pitch Up, Peaky Rounders, Ballers, TicketWeb Wolves and of course the Sales Sons of Pitches.
