A panel of industry professionals including radio DJs, music columnists, promoters, band managers and Ticketmaster’s Yvonne Morrison chatted to the students. They discussed all aspects of working in the music industry, what their average day looks like and how they too can progress onto further education and to working in a variety of associated jobs in the Industry – be it as a band manager, singer, guitarist, lawyer, marketing manager or ticketing manager. This was followed by a Q&A session where the students engaged enthusiastically with the panel.

Behind the Noise is a “real world” music and business education programme for high school students in Central Scotland and culminates in a three-night series of live music events featuring bands from all of schools involved. Students are actively involved in the bands from stage managing, sound control and lighting to running the box office with Ticketmaster and TicketWeb staff each night.

Event dates for your diary this year are 18, 19 and 20 April at the Classic Grand Glasgow.

Tickets for Behind the Noise are on sale via TicketWeb. Get course info for Behind the Noise here, and you can also access their Sound Cloud.
