These dates mark Elton’s last-ever tour, the end of half a century on the road for one of pop culture’s most enduring performers. The new stage production will take his fans on a musical and highly visual journey spanning a 50-year career of hits like no one has ever seen before. Farewell Yellow Brick Road will be a 300-plus date tour, encompassing five continents and spanning the next three years.

“Performing live fuels me and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe. I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour.” – Elton John, 2018

At an event in New York’s Gotham Hall earlier this year, Elton John announced his three-year-long tour and his retirement from touring: “It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life.”

Ticketmaster is the global ticketing partner, with Elton choosing to use Ticketmaster Verified Fan to battle scalpers and bots, in order to ensure tickets get into the hands of genuine fans who want to go to the show.

How Verified Fan works

Fans wanting to see Elton play in Ireland at Dublin’s 3Arena on 12 June 2019 or in Amsterdam at the Ziggodome on 15 May 2019 were asked via the artist’s channels to sign up through the European tour dates landing page, built and managed by Ticketmaster Artist Services.

Ticketmaster analysed the sign-ups to remove bad actors who are considered likely to resell their tickets, prioritising instead actual fans who were contacted via SMS with a presale code and invitation to the show’s presale.

Fans wishing to attend the Danish and Swedish shows still need to sign up to be verified ahead of the shows going on sale (see the Danish Verified Fan sign-up example below).
