At Eurosonic held 17 – 20 January, we braved the cold to check out upcoming artists by night, whilst by day it was time to mingle with representatives from over 400 international festivals and learn all about the latest developments in the international music industry.

The conference culminated in a keynote from our very own David Marcus, EVP – Head of Music at Ticketmaster US (shown below). Responsible for Ticketmaster’s largest business segment, selling more than 60 million concert tickets annually, David spoke to Ticketmaster’s latest technology innovation – Verified Fan.

This innovative new product has been built to help artists get tickets into the hands of fans who intend to go to the event, and create a better, ticket-buying experience for them. By leveraging Ticketmaster’s technology platform and largest live event database in the world, we’re changing the mechanisms of an onsale so that the speed of bots is no longer a factor in the rush to get tickets.

As used recently on high-profile American tours such as Taylor Swift, Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan technology is now available in Europe and has already been rolled out with great success on recent Harry Styles, Jack White and George Ezra tours.
