What a great time we had listening to some incredible up-and-coming artists at The Great Escape! Now that the 2018 edition of the festival has come and gone, we’ve put together a few takeaways for you:

1. AI has huge potential for the music industry

Ticketmaster’s very own MD Andrew Parsons sat alongside musical luminaries including artist Imogen Heap to explore the many ways that Artificial Intelligence will impact the music industry in the near future. Parsons explained Ticketmaster’s latest step in developing long-term engagement with fans, with the use of predictive intelligence. This technology allows Ticketmaster to keep fans informed about the upcoming gigs they really want to see, with the recommendation engine aiming to understand the preferences of each individual customer. The ultimate aim? To have the landing page of the Ticketmaster site unique to each user.

2. Brighton Beach is the perfect place to host a party

Once again we had a great time hanging out with all the amazing people we work with at our annual Great Escape party.

3. Amyl & The Sniffers are the best band in the world right now

Our annual showcase at The Great Escape is pretty much our favourite five hours of the year. This year we packed out The Prince Albert with five of our absolute favourite bands of the moment. There were queues down the stairs from minute one for our openers Shiners, and it stayed like that until Amyl & The Sniffers capped off the evening with by a performance described by someone at The Guardian as the single most exhilarating rock’n’roll show they’d seen in years. If you were there, you know. Check out the our live shots from the night on the TicketWeb blog

4. Brighton has some incredible venues

Is there anywhere in the world that has more awesome venues in such a concentrated space? We don’t think so. Whether you spent your most of your time in The Haunt, Coalition or dare we say it – The Queens – then we’re sure you agree.

Check out the our live shots from the night on the TicketWeb blog.

5. It’s fun hanging out with the mega stars of the future…

Our content team interviewed over 15 artists during the course of the weekend. Maybe when Kojey Radical is a global superstar he won’t remember drinking fruit tea with our Killian, but we don’t think Nina Nessbit will ever forget the makeup job she gave our roving reporter. Check out our interviews from the weekend here
