Manchester saw attendance from clients ranging from SMG Europe, The Warehouse Project and We Are Mission Mars while Glasgow hosted the Scottish Event Campus, DF Concerts and Glasgow Life during our Date with Data presentation.

A number of recent high-profile breaches has brought the issue of data privacy to the forefront of the public’s attention and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the biggest shake up in privacy law in the last 20 years.

Matt Towey our VP of Data Privacy at Ticketmaster provided an overview of the regulations including the Core Principals of GDPR – consent, data subject rights, individual rights and penalties for non-compliance for failure to adhere to the new law.

Fans are at the heart of everything we do and our goal is to maintain trust and confidence by handling their personal information with respect and putting them in control, and as such we have been working for over a year on ensuring we are fully compliant including moving to an opt-in consent, updating our privacy policy and detailed report keeping.

The event finished with a lively question and answer session with clients gaining a significant insight into this hot topic and leaving with a much deeper understanding of the legislation, its potential impact on their business and reassurance that as their ticketing partner we at Ticketmaster and TicketWeb have a full programme of work in place to support our fans and clients alike.
