On Monday 13 August, George Ezra announced that he will hit the road again in March 2019 with a string of new UK arena tour dates.

“We’re going on tour! And not just any tour, the biggest run of dates that I will have ever played,” said George about the new announcement, “let’s make it one to remember.”

The extensive UK tour includes shows in Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Brighton, Nottingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London and follows his November 2018 tour in smaller venues in cities including Sheffield, Hull and Glasgow.

Artist Presale

Ticketmaster Artist Services were employed by live agent 13Artists, management Closer Artists, record company Sony Music and live promoters nationwide (including SJM Concerts, Metropolis Music, Communion Music and Crosstown Concerts) to promote and manage a major artist presale, 48 hours ahead of general sale to reward George’s most loyal fans with exclusive ticket access.

Artist Services created a landing page, listing all UK tour dates, so the artist had one branded destination for ticket to share with his fans. The team also generated the exclusive passcodes required to enter the presale, which were distributed to fans by label Sony.

The presale on Wednesday 15 August sold out in a matter of hours paving the way to an extremely fast-moving general sale Friday 17 August, plus the news of additional roll dates in London, Sheffield and Manchester.

Tackling touts

George and his team have for a long time tackled touts and bots head on, having partnered with Ticketmaster on numerous previous tours and events to actively control resale of ticket to his shows. These have Included intimate charity underplays with special guests at Union Chapel, Islington, London.  Read more here.

This tour is no different with George’s team, Ticketmaster and the venues partnering with one another to reduce secondary ticketing through a combination of names-on-tickets with ID checks at entry. Each passcode allowed a customer to purchase up to 6 x tickets and an accept-and-continue page ensured acknowledgement of the terms.
