This month we speak to Social Media & Content Manager Tom Stafford about who he’s tipping for success.

Tell us your story – how did you end up joining TicketWeb?

I played in a band in my (slightly) younger days just as social media was really starting to kick off. I quickly became obsessed with managing our Myspace account and how we could communicate with our fans directly. After leaving my band I went to study Music Business and gained an internship with Shazam who subsequently hired me. After a year of working at Shazam producing content for their in-app news feed, they decided to scrap the project. TicketWeb were hiring for a new social media manager and it felt like a pretty decent fit. The rest is history.

Can you explain a normal day at work for you?

There are two main strands of my job – Promoting the TicketWeb brand, through content initiatives across social and the blog and the commercial side of selling tickets. This involves working with our artist services team on presales, as well as working with promoters directly, promoting their events across our channels.

What has been your favourite campaign to work on?

Ones To Watch is always a personal favourite. It’s fun to try and predict who we think is going to breakthrough over the next year and it involves a real collaborative effort across different teams in the business. Plus we get to champion some great new artists.

Who are you tipping for success this year and/or next?

I think Sigrid is about to become the biggest pop-star in the world. She’s a unique talent.

What live event have you enjoyed and are most looking forward to in the next 12 months?

This year’s The Great Escape Festival was the best ever in my opinion. I’ve never known a year where there have been so many clashes of artists I wanted to see. Kendrick Lamar is long overdue a proper UK tour. If anyone who’s in a position to make that happen is reading this can you please?

What has been your favourite ever live show?

Kanye West at Koko in 2015. He’s my generations greatest star and to see him in my favourite venue was very special. Forget about all the controversy and celebrity, he’ll go down as one of the best to ever do it.

And finally, what are you listening to at the moment?

I have a full-blown addiction to Oh Wonder’s new album Ultralife
