The Epsom Downs Investec Derby, held Friday 2 and Saturday 3 June is home to two of the greatest race days and social occasions in the British calendar – days which are not to be missed. As part of the experience, visitors have the opportunity to pre-order drinks from the Trackside Bar including, for the first time, draught beer.
Among the 15 races held over the festival’s two days is The Investec Derby Stakes, widely considered the greatest flat race in the world. With only 3-year-olds eligible to compete, this one-shot-at-glory event attracts spectators from across the country, all of whom head to Epsom Downs Racecourse expecting excellent racing, serious glamour and impeccable hospitality.
Through the hospitality-enhancing mobile app guests can select their drinks, be that a glass of Pimms and Lemonade, a draught beer or a bottle of Moët Imperial, and pay quickly with their card. The drinks will be prepared and available to collect at the Trackside Bar, located adjacent to the finishing post, without any need to queue or risk missing a single race.
Visitors can pre-order their drinks online or download the Epsom Downs app which is available on the App Store (shown below) and Google Play. Users will receive 15% off their first order.
Richard Herring, General Manager at Epsom Downs from Jockey Club Catering, says, “Last year we welcomed 154,000 visitors to the Derby, it was our second year using mobile ordering and numbers grew by 68% from the previous year. By offering this year’s spectators the option of ordering ahead, we are giving them a more relaxed ordering experience, therefore enhancing their enjoyment of the event.”

Epsom Downs is not alone in using mobile ordering for race days. Sandown Park and Bath Racecourse also make pre-ordering available to spectators through their mobile apps.
