All in all, Ticketmaster had 142 box offices across the country this summer, with 3,000,000-plus tickets scanned and countless cups of coffee consumed. Let’s take a look back at the summer that was…
We kicked off with the BBC 6 Music Festival in Glasgow, and a collection of successful Paperless tours from Kasabian, George Ezra and Iron Maiden – the latter of which saw 60,000 fans entering arenas seamlessly across the country with their credit cards.
Things took a turn with the incident in Manchester, but the Ticketmaster team came together with SJM and Festival Republic to pull off the unforgettable One Love Manchester event in just 10 days. That same weekend saw Depeche Mode at the London Stadium, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot at the KC Light Stadium, and Field Day in London.
This summer also saw the launch of Front Gate Tickets which made its first festival appearance at Wilderness and Latitude (shown below) with great success. Front Gate has emerged as the market leader in end-to-end festival ticketing solutions, redefining the festival ticketing experience for promoters and fans alike through innovation, creativity and technology.
August Bank Holiday provided us with the biggest weekend of the year with Eminem in Glasgow, Big Feastival in Oxfordshire, Reading and Leeds Festival, Creamfields, Manchester Pride, SW4 and House of Common. Not forgetting, of course, The Flying Scotsman at Didcot Railway Centre!
