Wolverhampton City Council chose our Universe platform to handle the free tickets fans had to register for – culminating in 30,000 fans registering for their chance to join the party in less than an hour.
Box Office Manager Liz Grimshaw said, “We are all very impressed! We went on sale with 30,000 tickets with very little notice and demand at on sale was also much higher than anticipated, with the event selling out in just 50 minutes! It could have been a real reputational issue for WCC had the platform not coped. Everyone here at WCC, and our external partners on the project are all very impressed with how well the Universe platform handled the incoming traffic, and we’ve even had customers contacting us, to praise the booking process too."

"The setup process and extra features such as the messaging platform, optional add on questions and reporting, made the whole experience streamlined and very user friendly. We were able to create the event in 15 minutes, and support from the Universe team was great," added Grimshaw. "The onsite app and the ease of installing onto several mobile devices allowed us to scan tickets into site on the day – a feature which was very much appreciated by management on site. We managed to get all 30,000 customers into West Park well within our 1 hour, 30 minutes allocated time, and this was only utilising 30 devices!"
