Ticketmaster Manchester’s Pride team have been hard at work on their float, and we checked in the with the team to see what we can expect…

Ticketmaster have taken the Manchester Pride theme of “Class of 2017” and turned back time to 1967 – the year homosexuality was decriminalised in the UK. This year will mark the 50th anniversary of this historic milestone for the LGBTQI community. What better way to celebrate than to recreate a real life 1967 American prom on our float to honour this momentous occasion – complete with flower power, peace and love!

The team have all been working hard, but special thanks go to Michelle Noble, who is our very own Pride seamstress – working around the clock to create some amazing ’60s outfits, along with Alex Pike. All prom guests will have buttonholes, corsages and gloves to keep things classy.

Dan Cook is in charge of the playlist again and will be making sure that we shake our tailfeathers to a fantastic ’60s soundtrack, alongside the three-piece-band (complete with a vintage drum kit), glitter ball and a majestic throne fit for a prom queen (or king!).

We are spending all day today decorating the float – in between practising our ’60s back combing and eyeliner routine – ready to hit the road tomorrow. We are all really excited about this year’s float, and can’t wait to find out who will be our prom king and prom queen.

Be sure to keep your eyes on Ticketmaster’s social channels to keep up-to-date with all the fun this weekend!

HAPPY PRIDE!!!
